The Group Critique - Beginning Blogger's Bootcamp

Hi everyone!

I just wanted to let you all know I'm taking part in The Group Critique of Will Paint Nails For Food's Beginning Blogger's Bootcamp (wow, that's probably a really confusing sentence but I don't really know how to simplify it).

Meghan of Will Pains Nails For Food is making a series of posts called Beginning Blogger's Bootcamp, where she gives a lot of tips about how to blog and what you should pay attention to.
Right now there's a group feedback session, so everyone can give constructive criticism on your blog
(Here's Meghan's blogpost about it).

It's really helpful to know what things are good about your blog, and what things you could change. I myself have certain preferences in lay-out, style of writing and so on, but maybe other people are really bothered by some things so it's very handy to know that :)

If you have some feedback about my blog, don't hesitate to leave a (constructive) comment! I've already gotten some feedback and they said some things I've never had given much thought to, so it's great to get some new perspectives this way.

Here's some things you can give feedback on:
  • Navigation: Is it easy to find things? Can you find out where to follow, leave a comment, learn more about the blogger, find past posts?
  • Photos: Are they clear and in focus? Do you have any suggestions for how to improve them?
  • Writing: Is the blogger's writing easy to follow? Do they write their posts in one long paragraph or do they break it into easy to read chunks of text?
  • Layout/Design: Does the design go well with the content? How is the layout, are the components of the blog organized in a logical manner?

It's of course very handy if you have a comment about improving my blog, but it's also helpful to know if you think something about my blog of blogposts is very good which I shouldn't change, so you can definitely also leave a comment about that :)

Thanks to everyone who wants to give feedback, and I'll definitely check your blog out too if you're participating in the feedback session as well!

I think this is a great idea and has also linked up. I like the calm colors on your blog and the photos are really good. What I think would be good to add is icons in the sidebar so that readers easy can start following you. And also a search box is a good thing to have. Keep up the good work!

Thanks for the feedback! Someone else also mentioned to have icons so people could follow me, so that is definitely something I'll add! And thanks for the suggestion of the search box, that's also a really good tip :)

I'm doing this as well! It's such a great idea!
I love the simplicity of your blog, the colours scheme looks great and your nail poses are really original. I really like your writing style too, it's really friendly. :)
You could perhaps add a "translate" box to your sidebar, so that people in other countries who cannot speak English can understand what you're writing. Adding icons for your different platforms is a good idea, try and put them at the top of your blog so that when people come to your page they can follow you on them straightaway.

Thanks a lot for the feedback! Haha, I'm glad I come across as friendly, that's a really nice comment of you :)
The translate box is a really good idea! I always assume everyone knows a bit of English but of course, it's actually not a lot of trouble for me to add a translate box and it can be really helpful for people who aren't fluent in English, so thanks! I'll try to figure out how to add that, and the platform icons as well! :)

Hello! I'm not participating in the Session but I'd love to write some feedback about your blog. :)

DESIGN; I like the design you chose for this blog. It simple but the grey and red colors match well together! All the attention goed to you articles!
WRITING; I also love your writing style, I wouldn't change the structure at all. :)
NAVIGATION; It's very clear where to find articles and other items on your blog,
but maybe you should place a translation box, like other bloggers also mentioned.
PHOTOS; The style of you pictures is very clear and I love them! I think your pictures are way better than mine :)

I hope my feadback is helpfull for you!
You have just started blogging (just like me) and I think your blog looks great!

Hey, thanks a lot for the feedback and the compliments! I'll definitely try to put a translation function on my blog, it's something I hadn't thought about before it was mentioned in the feedback I got, so this feedback session is really proving to be helpful! And I think the pictures on your blog have improved a lot in the past weeks, so they'll keep getting better! :)

HI there, I am also participating so I'd thought I'd leave you some feedback.

I would suggest, like others, adding Google Friend connect or even BlogLovin' so that people have a way of following you. I also have a instagram slideshow on my blog which runs through all of my instagram photos, some of which I do not put on the blog.
I really like the simple design and layout of your blog. I also think your photos and writing is good.

Hope this helps :)
