An Abundance of Kiwis!

Hello everyone!

Today's post is another "sock inspired" one! (I might have to start a series of sock inspired manicures haha)
I bought some lovely socks with kiwis on them! (the fruit, not the bird - although that also would have been awesome) They are absolutely adorable, and I thought the print would look fabulous as nail art as well.

I used OPI's Amazon...Amazoff as a base coat, and then painted on the kiwis with acrylic paint. When I bought Amazon...Amazoff I thought it was a bit more similar to the colour of my socks, but the polish is more teal/green than my socks. I do think the colour is similar enough though to still fit the design :)

Here you can see my nails and socks together (and for some reason, the colours in this picture look so much brighter than in the other pictures. I'm not sure why, because when I open the picture on my computer it looks like the others - I think Blogger is being difficult. Sorry! Anyway, the colours of my nails are more accurate in the other pictures):

It was actually amazingly easy to paint these kiwis: I started by painting some half circle shapes in green paint. Then I added the brown half moons and made yellow dots in the middle of the kiwi. Then I used a toothpick to make the black dots.

What do you think of these? I really like these! Although in retrospect, maybe I should have made the kiwis a bit bigger so it was more obvious they were kiwis.
