Let's go Monochrome!

Hi everyone!

Today's design is inspired by the gorgeous monochrome nails Galorious did a few months ago - you can find them here. I loved the design on her pointer finger and pinky so much that I decided to recreate it :)
I also did a monochrome design with black and white, and added some gold studs like Galorious did.

The colours I used are:
Alpine Snow - OPI
Tweedy - Sally Hansen (Fuzzy Coat)
Black on Black - Sinful Colors

I actually made two versions of this design: one with Sally Hansen's Fuzzy Coat, and another one with just black nails. I'm still not sure which version works best - maybe the version with the plain black nails is a bit too harsh in contrast with the white? But on the other hand, maybe the Fuzzy Coat distracts from the nice simplicity of the design?

Which version do you prefer? I really adore these, I love the simplicity and class of these nails :)

Then a formal announcement to finish this blogpost: in the coming weeks, I will have to concentrate on school a lot. I have a lot of papers due and an exam I have to prepare for, so I will probably blog a little bit less or still blog but with simpler designs or swatches :) Just wanted to let you know! But after that, I have a really really cool review for you about which I'm suuuper excited! So stay tuned ;)

Thanks for reading!

We love the fuzzy version. It looks as though it gives really good coverage - did you have to use many coats? Can't wait to see your review, exciting!! E&J.xx

Thank you so much! I'm very glad that you like it, I just loved that design a lot and it looked so elegant, so I had to try it for myself :)

Thank you! The fuzzy coat is indeed something very different and cool! :)

Thanks Emma and Jo! I used two coats of Fuzzy Coat and then dabbed on a bit more where there were still some bald spots. It gives good coverage, because the polish is very very thick so you immediately get a lot of fuzzy stuff on your nails with one coat. Drying time is absolutely horrible though :/ It takes several hours before it's completely dry so I always use it before I go to sleep so it can dry the entire night haha! I'm very excited about my review too! :D

These look beautiful! I love the negative space design on your index and pinky, it works perfectly with your nail shape :) Both with the fuzzy coat and plain black are gorgeous!

Thanks a lot Lucy! I think I'm liking the plain black and white combination the most at the moment, but it changes every day haha :)

I am not a big fan of fuzzy top coats, but in this combination it looks soooo pretty and elegant that I am definitely going to try it too. Until now I have just one in my collection, but it is combined with glitter and I used it just one time :)
I love it better without the top coat, it is more classy and elegant but in both ways the mani look great!

Thanks Andrea! I'm not such a big fan of my Fuzzy coat either, mainly because of the ridiculously long drying time :/ But I do like the effect on my nails :) I'm curious to see your fuzzy coat, it sounds very special with the glitter!

Wow love the busy look of the fuzzy coat!

Thanks AJ! Hmm I hadn't thought of the fuzzy coat as "busy" but it does describe it perfectly! :)
